What to expect

Cycling along the emerald Soča River, cross the borders at your own pace, and discover hidden gems of the Slovenian Valleys – all while enjoying the same no-race philosophy that defines The Grand Escape.

You'll start alongside hundreds of fellow adventurers on June 21st, but your journey will take you through a carefully selected path that captures Slovenia's magic without requiring an extended time commitment.

Imagine a bright green forest, a thin strip of asphalt along a cycle path, and your bike loaded with everything you need.

A 550 km long adventure awaits you, crossing Slovenia and Italy: the most exciting borders to discover on a bike.

Departure from Udine, in a land rich in history, culture, food, and wine, heading towards Slovenia, the green heart of Europe.

It will be a journey where you can explore unique places with hundreds of other like-minded enthusiasts on a carefully constructed route that will make you feel alive.

We've included more than 163 km of bicycle paths that will make you forget the existence of cars. 

You will hear only the sound of the wind and, very often, the sound of water flowing past you in the river.

You’ll have a perpetual smile on your face as you watch around to take in the nature that surrounds you fully.

Mountains, forests, meadows, alpine streams, and snow-capped peaks: you will experience an adventure on your road bike to tell your friends about for the years to come.

But there will not only be nature because you will enter inside historical centers rich in culture, such as Lubljana and Udine, and charming towns where time seems to stand still.

Our routes are designed and tested obsessively all year long.

You'll ride on the best roads possible:
backroads, cycle paths, hidden secrets, and always great scenery.
No impossible climbs, no useless hardness.
